MRI/MRA
An MRI is often a necessary exam for diagnosing and treating various health concerns. MRI is a type of scan used to view internal body parts such as the organs, tissues and bones by using a magnetic field and radio waves.
Sometimes, a contrast agent is necessary during an MRI to help the radiologist see the body part being scanned more thoroughly. This is administered intravenously.
An MRA is a type of MRI exam that allows doctors the ability to look at blood vessels more thoroughly. Like MRIs, MRAs are noninvasive and less painful than traditional angiography, which involves inserting a catheter into the body.
